The DL on the Blog

So what exactly is this about? I'm currently in an Interactive Media class and we are required to blog about what we are learning in class, as well as taking the subject (my subject is Experiential Marketing, sounds way interesting right?) that we were assigned in class and using it to better the business that we chose.

So what is experiential marketing? I had no freaking idea... thanks to Google and wiseGEEK, I now understand what it is. Basically, it tries to touch base with the consumers emotions, getting to them, depending on what the product is. It tries to appeal to many senses and tap into ones emotions, that will hopefully trigger inspirational thoughts, comforts, and pleasures (guilty or not so guilty). For my fav fellow Ad Students, Experiential Marketing is pretty much knowing your target audience to a "T." Make sense? Because, it's still a bit vague to me! Here's some copy and pasting from the article I read:

On a more interesting note, I've decided to do my project on This is a Good Sign (I'm currently working on improving their website at the moment). Good Sign is all about a mental state of mind. It's kind of like Life is Good, but a bit deeper and more for the hippies and nomads of the world. The purpose for Good Sign is "to initiate a movement towards communal harmony and optimism through the use of visual reminders and personal interactions."
